Baked expressly for my son — a cupcake connaisseur …
Okay. What life event created the brain-process which connected success and cupcakes? What could these elements possibly have in common?
Actually, in my world — everything!
One year ago, I acted upon the reality that my job was being outsourced. Full-time motherhood (and all that entailed for me) was no longer something my family required. Two eldest children living away from home; youngest son enrolled in computer classes.
Thus I resumed my career (outside the home) by investigating and defining the desires of my heart … I began to journal my days and my discoveries — and to view planning from an entirely new angle. While I felt comfortable with my level of determination and experience/intelligence with regard to planning and managing the days of my life … My technique needed definite tweaking.
Over the years, I had sought the “perfect” organizational system for my creative (but willing) self. One that would enable me to rein in the team of horses securely hitched to my (eclectic, vintage) stagecoach of Life. I prefer “slow and steady” along the scenic-route over the fly-high, jet-routes — which limit one’s view of the details along the way…)
However, I was left with adapting systems that were void of design, repetitive and designed for born-organized folks who just liked the status and convenience of filling in blanks … The pages (and pages!) of instructions made sense to them because they read every word.
Illustrations are my choice.
Every time.
So, back to interconnectiveness of success (and cupcakes!). Back in February — after a day of my brain working like a arcade game — I made the decision to compile my notes and research regarding what worked for me. Notes about planning, journaling, illustrating, etc., etc. in order to accomplish what was in my heart.
And it worked.
I became more organized (read: focused) and productive as well as relaxed and creative! And I have time to do things like bake cupcakes!
